Even without lyrics, this song could have been a hit. If you can’t dance to this song, you either don’t have legs or can’t hear properly.
Whether you’re looking for dance music or a love song, this song in just under 2 and a half minutes manages to give you an excellent example of both.Īdam Lambert does the lyrics, Nile Rogers plays a masterful guitar tune in the background, and Avicii throws in a disco-reminiscent dance beat. Audra Mae belts out heartfelt lyrics while Avicii does what he does best, adding an addictingly catchy beat and rhythm. While being by far the shortest song on the album at measly 2 minutes and 28 seconds long, it is one of the better songs of the album. It is by far the best track of the album, and one of the best songs of the year. The lyrics are good on their own, but combined with a beat so catchy that it’s impossible to not at least bob your head to it. The song is mainly country, but part of the refrain transitions the song into an electronic dance break. The first single from the album, Wake Me Up is an electric-country combo, with lyrics by American soul singer Aloe Blacc, and Avicii collaborating with Mike Eizinger (a guitarist for the indie band Incubus) on the melody and chord progression. True has its ups and down, but it is one of the best new albums and certainly the most unique album the electronic dance genre has seen in quite a while. True is a step away from his normal genre, with more lyrics and songs such as Wake Me Up that include an interesting blend of electronic and country.
Avicii, a Swedish DJ famous for his electronic dance music, released his debut studio album, True, on Sept.
